Pine Castle
ABOUT US
The poet and writer Will Wallace Harney gave the Pine Castle area its name in 1874. “My Castle of Pine” or “Pine Castle” is derived from the building of Harney’s home, which contained castle-like towers built from pine boards. Today, Pine Castle residents and businesses contribute to Orange County’s thriving economy while remembering their proud history.
The Pine Castle area encompasses Orlando’s first integrated subdivision, Sky Lake. Events such as the annual Pine Castle Pioneer Days continue to honor its pioneering residents and their traditions. From the early settlers to the urban residents of the 21st Century, the people of Pine Castle remain involved and concerned about their community.
Pine Castle includes the areas bound to the West by Orange Blossom Trail, to the East by Belle Isle City, to the North Redman Street and the City of Edgewood, and to the South by Sand Lake Road.
